A letter from our new Headteacher, Charlotte Millea

Dear Parents and Carers,

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you. My name is Charlotte Millea and I have had the most wonderful first week in post as the new headteacher of Co-op Academy Southfield.

I have worked in the city of Bradford as a special school teacher and senior leader for 18 years, the last 15 of these have been at Co-op Academy Delius. Whilst at Delius I had the pleasure of teaching a great number of Southfield students during their primary years. It is a delight to work with these pupils again. As well as this, to be given the opportunity to develop relationships with all of the students is a real privilege for me. This week, they have welcomed me extremely warmly, they are a credit to their families and to the school!

As a teacher and later as a school leader, one of the most important things to me has always been to make sure that I know the students’ families as well as I possibly can. This is a shared value of Emma, the Executive Head. Therefore, we would like to invite you to some parent and carer events. The purpose of these events are for you to be able to get to know us both. Also, you will be able to spend time with some of the existing members of the senior leadership team. We will send more information to you next week.

To try to make sure that everyone who would like to attend, can do so, we have organised three sessions which will be held on during the following sessions:

  • Thursday 15th May - 16:00 - 17:30
  • Tuesday 20th May - 9:30 - 10:30
  • Tuesday 20th May - 14:00 - 14:45

Best wishes.
